wow. hello.

since i've last written, a lot of great things have happened:

(1) BFF came to visit

(2) i've discovered the miracle facewash: baking soda

(3) i found fabulous face lotion: burts bee's night creme with royal jelly

(4) i went to my local library for the first time since we moved here (three years)

4a) borrowed two books on web page design (and i read them before i goto bed!)

(5) i've/we've become obcessed with the HBO series Six Feet Under (we're currently on the 4th disc of season 3)

(6) i've almost completed kniting a sweater!!

(7) i've made two bags (and i've got ideas for about 6 more!)

(8) my kroger finally got store brand soy milk (and it's organic!!!) and i get my employee discount on it!!!

(9) i'm not going to school this semester and i'm much happier without it!

(10)i've cut back on cheese and i've never been happier!

(11) i finally used the rest of the gallon of bleach i bought 2 years ago and i'm moving onto much more environmentaly friendly cleaning products (baking soda and vinegar)



i'll post pictures of the bags and sweaters later.


some bad things:

(1) my laptop has a humongous crack in it and there is a gigantic black splotch in the middle of the screen-needless to say-im in the marker for a cheap computer monitor ($2.98 at the salvation army) so that my lap top can be a full time desk top.

(2) i think that my effort to cause less polution has only caused more!!! :(




well i'm off to tend to my cupcakes and meet Diemchi at Cellar at 630 for happy hour drinks! (i've never been to happy hour before!)

i feel like i've been very blog-glectful lately. but i have reason to think that i've become a little bit more than obcessed with ravelry i just can't stop thinking about it! and it's making me crazy because it makes me want to knit ALL day so that i can post pictures about it and talk to my new ravelry friends about it! AHHHHHHHH it's driving me insane*!!!!

good* morning, sunshine!!!

sorry i haven't posted all weekend, gang-we had two houseguests!!! it was like the good old days-going out every night and laughing a lot.

well i know it's very early for a post, but we went to bed at EIGHT o'clock lastnight and i woke up at 530 to go pee and couldn't get to sleep by 630, so i decided to get up. and boy, i'm glad i did:

i finally got my invitation to ravelry!!!!!!


what a fabulous thing to wake up to!!!!!!

they're still in the testing stages, so if you're interested in being a member, you've got to sign up on a waiting list-i was probably only waiting for about 2 weeks. once the site is up and running, everyone will be able to join and it's free!! i didn't really know what the site was for at first, but i was just reading about it and it's a place where you can exchange ideas, patterns, yarns, make friends, see what other people are knitting, and there is also a place where you can keep an inventory of all of your needles, yarns, patterns, etc!!! i'm very excited about this!!!


in other news: last year i bought an insulated travel coffee mug. as of right now, it's been in the cup holder on the door of the car for about....2 weeks (kevin used it and i refuse to bring it inside.) and we seem to have lost the one coffee mug we did have-i'm positive that it's in kev's office, but he may have left it somewhere....i'm not really sure. (the other mug got broken about...2 years ago) so i'm reduced to using small cereal bowls for my coffee.

sighting!

when i was walking Achilles yesterday i saw a female and a male cow-dnow at different times.

the female got scared by the dog and hopped behind some bushes and later on in the day, i saw a male in a tree looking around. they were both so beautiful!

in other news: we woke up to a big dump on one of kevins books this morning. (no, kevin didn't do it) Achilles has been sick since he had surgery.

i've only finished one so far. and i haven't tried it on yet...so i hope it fits. also, i haven't yet decided who i'm making these for. so one of you might be the lucky owners of this snazzy pair of socks.

green thumb(s)

these are some handwarmers that i'm making. i actually made them last winter for kristin then i demanded that she give them back to me so that i could knit some thumbs on and i started to do the first one then stopped for some reason. (i think i wanted to use the needles for s different project-the brown mittens-or something)














see-on the left is how i made them originally. and on the right is where i picked up stitches along the edge of the thumb and started knitting a thumb on. i'll finish it eventually.

messed up mittens

this is a pair of mittens i started a long time ago. we might have still been living in buffalo...? maybe not. anyway-i haven't finished them becausei sort of forgot about them until the other day when i found them again. as you can see, i'm going to have to redo the second one because it's way shorter!!! the look i was going for was: opposite stripes on each glove, but on the second glove, i think i was just going by 5 or so rows of each color, which really messed me up. oh well. i'll finish them.

blah and argh.

sorry i haven't posted in a few days, family. my sister just informed me that this was a really good idea....duh.

i bought some sock yarn yesterday FOR SOCKS!! so i'm done with the first sock's ankle. hopefully i'll get the heel turned tonight. and i'll post pictures when i get home from school.

in other news: we might have to get rid of the dog. someone from the office knocked on our neighbors door yesterday (because they thought he had the dog....?) and told him they couldn't have a dog. or something. i don't think kevin had all the facts straight. so i don't know if the dog is barking when we're not home or what...

this is a pillow that i made for an art class. it was supposed to be part of a series but i didn't have enough time to make more than 2. (a series consists of 4 or more-or something)
